- Clothing: light cotton clothing, quick dry garment, a lot of sleeveless and skirts/shorts, tees and anything comfortable and light. Even jeans can be heavy and uncomfortable on the Bali Islands.
- Footwear: The standard is just a pair of flip-flop. However, you may carry another pair of running shoes/jogger and slippers. If you plan of hiking the Gunung Agung or the Mount Batur, carry good quality hiking shoes. Similarly, if you want to go clubbing, remember that most clubs won’t allow flip-flops and sandals.
- First Aid Kit: Just carry the basic, any medication you are already on, a few ibuprofen (to get over bad handovers), anti diarrhea medicine and antimotility drugs.
- Documents: Photo copies of your passport, paper of travel insurance, receipt of any traveler’s cheque, emergency contact numbers (hard copy), and a few passport size photographs.
- Other essentials: small multi-utility knife, small padlock, hand sanitizers, ear plugs, mosquito repellant, flashlight/torch/headlight, plastic bags for waterproofing in rains.
