About the Monument:
Don't miss the chance to visit one of the seven wonders of the world - the Taj Mahal along with access to the main Mausoleum. The world-famous monument is located on the banks of the River Yamuna in Agra. Built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as a memorial for his third wife, Mumtaz Mahal, the monument also comprises of Shah Jahan's tomb himself.
The mausoleum was designed on the basis of a symmetrical plan. The beautiful mausoleum is built around an octagonal marble chamber, designed with low-relief carvings & stones (pietra dura). There lies the cenotaphs of Mumtaz Mahal and Shah Jahan.
