About the Monument:
Renowned as one of the oldest Mughal gardens in India, the Ram Bagh refers to a beautiful Persian Garden with pathways & canals placed within the garden. The garden was developed from the idea of Islam's concept referring to an ideal paradise i.e a river flowing through the gardens. The garden was originally named Aram Bagh meaning Garden of Rest. The garden is beautifully classified into 3-levels where the 1st level has flowers and vegetables, the 2nd bed has flower beds and the third one is equipped with tanks. It is believed that Akbar proposed his third wife who was the gardener there & Akbar laid there idle for 6 days until she accepted the proposal.
