Know Before You Go

  • Do not take caffeine at high altitude for it can dehydrate your body and contribute to altitude sickness.
  • Drink 3-4 litres of water on daily basis in little quantities to keep your body hydrated and prevent altitude sickness.
  • Acclimatizing your body is as important for your body as drinking water on daily basis. Do not hurry and maintain a proper pace with proper acclimatisation.
  • It is important to give as little force as possible to the body while trying to adjust to a reducing oxygen supply.
  • Our itinerary is designed in such a way that will make you climb high sleep low to prevent your body from altitude sickness.
  • Always remember to dress up in layers for it is helpful to keep your body in the desired temperature range no matter what the environment is.
  • A visitor must also present an onward or return ticket together with proof that the visitor has sufficient funds to support himself or herself while in Tanzania.
  • At Kilimanjaro Airport, passengers disembark their flights outside on the tarmac. You may be required to show your boarding pass to staff outside the airport for verification that you got off the plane at the correct destination, so keep your boarding pass handy.
  • Do not bring non-bio gradable materials.
  • Pay heed to the instructions given by the trek leader and guide.
  • Taking care of your skin and eyes are important. Sunburns happen much quicker at high elevation so make sure to apply sunscreen a few times a day and wear a hat.
  • Always carry spare batteries and power bank for in the cold, your batteries will die much quicker than they do at home. This holds true for basically every kind of electronics you'll be using from phones to cameras to kindles
  • Foreigners seeking to enter the United Republic of Tanzania should be in possession of a valid passport, at least six months prior to expiration. The passport is to be presented to the Immigration Control Officer at any entry point: border station, airport, harbor. The passport must be presented along with one of the following: 1. A valid visa 2. Resident permit
