Chittorgarh city is located in the southern part of Rajasthan on the Berach River. It is about 112 km from Udaipur and 182 km from Ajmer. The city of Chittorgarh once served as the capital city of the Sisodia clan the Mewar Rajputs. Now it is the administrative city of the Chittorgarh District. 3. Gaumukh Kund: Gaumukh Kund is also known as the Tirth Raj of Chittorgarh because this is where most pilgrims visit at the end of their return journey. The place got its name from the mouth-shaped point at the end from where the water flows. Gaumukh Kund is located on the western part of the Chittorgarh Fort and there are lots of fishes in the water which are regularly fed by the visitors.

4. Sita Mata Wildlife Sanctuary: Sita Mata Wildlife Sanctuary is a dense forest of thick deciduous trees such as Rudraksha, Gulmohar, Sindoor, Bamboo, Bel, etc. There is also quite a large number of medicinal herbs found in the region out of which 17 are endangered species.
There are several rivers that flow through this sanctuary ensuring a good water supply for the flora and fauna in the forest. There are a number of wild animals, reptiles and birds that can be found in this forest. The sanctuary is a birdwatcher’s paradise with birds like egrets, herons, black-winged stilt, cotton teal etc making this sanctuary their home.

5. Fateh Prakash Palace: The Fateh Prakash Palace In Chittorgarh built by Maharana Fateh Singh, showcases the best part of the Rajput architecture. The engravings on the pillars and corridors are some of the finest examples of the art of that era. Part of the Palace has been converted into a museum and it is open to the public. The main attractions in the Palace are the collection of weapons of war, ancient stone statues and woodcrafts, collection of crystal artefacts, antique furniture and lots more.

6. Bassi Wildlife Sanctuary: Located just 5 km away from Bassi Fort Palace, the Bassi Wildlife Sanctuary covers a massive area of over 150 square km. The Sanctuary is home to several wild animals such as cheetah, jackals, hyenas, four-horned antelopes, wild boar, langurs, etc. Birds such as peacocks, hawks, eagles, whistling ducks, etc have also made this sanctuary their home.

7. Vijay Stambh: Vijay Stambh is located within the walls of the Chittorgarh Fort and it was built by Rana Kumbha to signify his victory over the Sultan of Mewar. There are nine floors in the Vijay Stambh and each comes with its own balcony which faces outwards.

8. Ratan Singh Palace: Ratan Singh Palace is one of the most popular attractions in Chittorgarh for its architectural splendour and historical significance. Although most parts of the Palace are in ruins it still retains its regal stature.
