About the Destination:
Dashrath Manjhi, popularly known as Mountain Man, was an Indian worker who lived in Gehlaur hamlet, near Gaya, Bihar. When his wife died in 1959 from injuries sustained while falling off a mountain, he chose to use just a hammer and a chisel to cut a passage 110 metres long, 9.1 metres wide, and 7.7 metres deep across a range of hills. Dashrath reduced the distance between the Atri and Wazirganj blocks of Gaya town from 55 kilometres to 15 kilometres after 22 years of hard effort. Director Ketan Mehta starred him in the film "Manjhi The Mountain Man" in 2015. He was featured on a postage stamp issued by the Indian Post in 2016. He flew to New Delhi to be recognised for his efforts, and he was awarded by Nitish Kumar, the then-chief minister of Bihar.
